Quick answer
A protective exit must use the opposite side of the existing position and the correct order type. A limit target and a stop exit solve different problems; a stop-limit adds a price constraint that can leave an exit unfilled. CFP is the listed 50% coupon for the recorded Flex and Rapid base challenge purchases.
Coupon verification recorded on 13 October 2026. Code: CFP. Listed offer: 50% off the recorded Flex and Rapid base challenge fees. Verification covers Prop Firm Audit's current active coupon record. Direct-account coverage is not established by that record.
Match the exit side to the position
FundedNext's official stop-loss and take-profit guide describes the basic order arrangement.
| Existing position | Profit-taking order | Protective stop order |
|---|---|---|
| Long | Sell limit above entry | Sell stop below entry |
| Short | Buy limit below entry | Buy stop above entry |
An exit with the wrong side or quantity can leave exposure open or create a new position. Confirm the actual position in the platform before relying on an order template.
Separate a stop trigger from a fill
A stop-market order becomes a market instruction when its configured trigger is met. Its final fill depends on executable prices. A stop-limit order becomes a limit instruction after triggering, so the limit can prevent execution at a worse price.
For an illustrative long position, suppose a sell stop-limit has a 5,990 trigger and a 5,989 limit. If the next available market is already below the sell limit, the order may remain unfilled while the position continues losing.
The limit price restricts the fill; it does not guarantee an exit. Use the platform's documented trigger and order behavior rather than treating a chart touch as proof of an executable fill.
Compare the trade-offs explicitly
| Order | Main concern to understand |
|---|---|
| Market exit | Fill price can differ from the current quote |
| Limit exit | May not fill if the required price or liquidity is unavailable |
| Stop-market | Can execute away from the stop level |
| Stop-limit | Can trigger without filling the exit |
| Bracket/OCO arrangement | Links depend on configuration and order status |
Protective orders assist risk management but do not replace live monitoring of account equity. An unfilled exit can still allow a loss-boundary breach.
Verify bracket quantities after a partial close
Suppose three contracts are open and one is closed manually. Two remain. Check that the protective orders cover those two contracts and that any linked target has the intended remaining quantity.
Do not assume every platform or template resizes every child order in the same way. Review actual order status after a partial fill, cancellation, manual close or connection change.
If the position is flat, inspect any remaining working entry or exit instructions. A stale order can create unintended exposure later.
Keep a useful order record
Before the trade, record contract month, position quantity, stop type, stop price, limit price if used and target quantity. After closing, retain fill timestamps, rejected-order messages and the final account position.
The DCA guide explains how several entries change combined risk. The FundedNext Futures review gives model context.
Apply CFP to the challenge fee
Flex $100K's official regular base reference is $273.99. A single 50% CFP reduction calculates to $137.00 after rounding to cents. That purchase saving does not guarantee an order fill or change loss limits.
Select the exact challenge on FundedNext Futures, enter CFP before payment and retain the revised order. The coupon record documents the offer. The official Flex page supplies the regular price reference.
