Before requesting a Traders Launch payout, calculate the trading cushion that remains after the account is debited. A locked end-of-day loss floor can leave substantially less room after a withdrawal even though the floor itself has stopped moving. Verified code: COMPARE is PFA’s owner-attested 30% offer on eligible futures base purchases, with displayed 80% profit-share configurations used for the price examples below.

Record the floor before choosing the request
The official futures rules describe end-of-day drawdown that locks at the starting balance, with no intraday trailing. They also say funded payout eligibility begins above +1% profit and that funded accounts have no consistency requirement. Those features answer different questions: the floor describes account risk, while eligibility describes whether a request can be considered.
Do not infer that an EOD calculation makes all intraday losses acceptable. Use the actual threshold and enforcement rules assigned to the account. A platform balance, current equity and withdrawable amount may differ, particularly while positions are open or a request is pending.
Your first ledger should contain the starting balance, currently enforced floor, current closed balance, open profit or loss, pending debit and any protected amount shown by the dashboard. Record all of them at one timestamp. Combining yesterday’s floor with today’s balance produces a misleading cushion.
Separate the request from the bank receipt
A gross account deduction and the money delivered to the trader are not necessarily equal. If a program pays an 80% share on a qualifying $1,000 gross amount, the share calculation produces $800 before any separately applicable payment adjustments. That example does not establish how every dashboard labels its request field.
Before calculating the remaining balance, determine whether the displayed input is the gross amount removed from the account or the trader’s net share. Use the actual account debit. Subtracting a smaller bank receipt from the trading balance can overstate the room remaining in the account.
| Ledger field | What belongs in it |
|---|---|
| Request displayed | Amount and label shown in the request form |
| Account debit | Actual reduction booked to the trading account |
| Trader share | Amount allocated under the selected profit split |
| Amount received | Money delivered after any applicable adjustments |
| Remaining cushion | Post-debit account equity less the enforced floor |
This is a reconciliation template, not an assertion that a particular transfer charge applies. Ask support to clarify ambiguous labels before confirming the request.
Work through the post-debit calculation
Assume, only for illustration, that a funded account shows $102,600 of closed balance, a $100,000 locked floor and no open position. If a permitted payout produces a $1,000 account debit, the projected balance is $101,600 and the projected cushion is $1,600.
| Illustrative item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Closed balance before debit | $102,600 |
| Locked floor shown by dashboard | $100,000 |
| Cushion before debit | $2,600 |
| Assumed account debit | $1,000 |
| Projected balance afterward | $101,600 |
| Projected cushion afterward | $1,600 |
The arithmetic establishes only the effect of that debit. It does not establish approval, the protected buffer, the permitted request amount or whether the next trade is appropriate. The first-payout timeline guide explains the separate evaluation-to-funded sequence.
A second hypothetical $900 debit would leave $700 of cushion from that same projected state. A trader who continued using a risk budget based on the original $2,600 would be relying on money that is no longer in the account.
Decide on retained room deliberately
A useful personal worksheet starts with the minimum room you want to retain, rather than the largest number a request form accepts. For example, a trader can compare the post-debit cushion with several planned losing trades plus expected costs and an allowance for execution uncertainty. This is a planning method, not a recommendation for a specific number of trades or a minimum balance imposed by Traders Launch.
Keep three separate answers: what the firm permits, what the dashboard currently displays, and what level of retained risk you are comfortable with. If those answers do not align, a smaller request or no request can be an option. There is no obligation to use every available dollar of a permitted payout.
Avoid changing position size merely to rebuild the withdrawn amount quickly. A payout creates an accounting event; it does not make the next setup more favorable. Review the strategy and account controls using the reduced cushion before resuming.
Reconcile once the request is processed
The official payout page describes same-day processing for eligible requests, subject to program terms. Treat submitted, approved, debited and received as separate milestones. A notification is useful evidence, but the actual account statement and payment receipt establish what happened.
After processing, compare the predicted debit with the booked debit. Confirm the loss floor, balance, any remaining protected amount and account status. If the values differ, preserve the timestamps and transaction reference and ask the firm to explain the discrepancy. Do not resolve a mismatch by assuming the most favorable number is correct.
Keep this record per account. Payout history on one account does not create extra cushion on another, and a combined household total is not a substitute for each account’s risk state.
