Quick answer: Breakout Prop review and COMPARE coupon
Breakout Prop coupon code: COMPARE. Use COMPARE for the supplied 5% discount on standard evaluation fees. The lowest published standard price is the $5,000 1-Step Turbo at $20; applying 5% gives a calculated $19 final base fee. The tables calculate savings from official standard fees. Confirm the final total at checkout.
Verified code: COMPARE. Coupon verification updated: 10 October 2026.
PFA editorial score: 90/100. Breakout is a crypto-native evaluation provider with three currently listed standard plans: 1-Step Classic, Pro and Turbo. Their main attractions are static overall drawdown, no minimum trading days, no consistency rule and on-demand USDC payouts. The trade-off is a strict equity-based loss framework, with a 3% daily limit on these standard plans. This review's 90/100 is an editorial score, not a customer-star average, an independently audited performance result or a guarantee of passing or receiving a payout.
Reviewed: 3 October 2026. Standard fees below were checked in the live official pricing selector across every available size. The review also covers the separately documented Spark product and explains why older Two-Step and DXtrade information must be read carefully. Research is based on published documents and public product pages; it does not represent a purchased-account or payout test.

The standard-plan summary fields refer to Classic, Pro and Turbo. Spark has different loss mechanics and is described separately below. The nominal account size is a program balance, not money transferred to the trader.
Account models: Classic vs Pro vs Turbo
The three standard Breakout evaluations each have one phase, but the cheapest challenge is not automatically the best fit. Compare the profit target against the usable loss allowance as well as the purchase fee. Official evaluation variants.
| Standard model | Profit target | Daily loss | Static overall loss | Available account sizes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1-Step Classic | 10% | 3% | 6% | $5K, $10K, $25K, $50K, $100K |
| 1-Step Pro | 12% | 3% | 5% | $5K, $10K, $25K, $50K, $100K, $200K |
| 1-Step Turbo | 9% | 3% | 3% | $5K, $10K, $25K, $50K, $100K, $200K |
Classic: more overall breathing room
Classic offers the widest static loss allowance of the three. On a $100,000 account, its evaluation target is $10,000 and the overall loss allowance is $6,000. The larger buffer can be useful for a strategy with normal fluctuations, but the same 3% daily rule still applies. Paying more for Classic does not let a trader ignore the daily equity floor.
Pro: lower fee with a higher target
Pro reduces the entry price relative to Classic and extends to $200,000 accounts. The compromise is a 12% evaluation target and 5% static drawdown. On $100,000, that means making $12,000 while protecting a $5,000 overall allowance. Its price alone does not make it easier to pass; the target is the highest of the three models.
Turbo: lowest entry price, tightest loss allowance
Turbo has a 9% target and the lowest standard fee, but only 3% overall drawdown. A $100,000 Turbo gives $3,000 of total loss room against a $9,000 target. The target-to-loss-allowance ratios are approximately 1.67 for Classic, 2.4 for Pro and 3 for Turbo. Those are arithmetic comparisons, not pass probabilities. They help explain why a low-cost account can be demanding to trade.

Spark and legacy Two-Step accounts
Spark: a separate $50K product with trailing loss
Breakout's fresh Spark overview documents a $50,000 account with a $3,000 profit target and a $1,500 trailing loss allowance. It has no daily loss limit, minimum trading days, consistency rule or qualifying-day rule. Its initial release is limited to 1,500 accounts.
Spark was not displayed in the public pricing and purchase selectors inspected for this review. A current purchase fee, remaining availability and COMPARE eligibility could not be confirmed. It is therefore excluded from the standard discount tables rather than assigned an estimated price.
Spark's trailing floor is $1,500 below its highest closed-balance high-water mark, recalculated at 00:30 UTC and enforced against equity. It continues trailing in the funded stage. Its absence of a daily loss limit does not remove overall breach risk. The funded transition retains the $50K size and trailing mechanics, with no activation fee and an 80% standard split or optional 90% upgrade. Spark has separate instrument leverage and trading fees; do not apply Classic/Pro/Turbo settings to it.
Two-Step: existing holders only
The official legacy Two-Step FAQ says it is no longer sold to new purchasers. Existing accounts retain their purchase-era rules, including a 5% first-phase target, 10% second-phase target, 6% static drawdown and 4% daily loss. Some educational pages still discuss Two-Step. That does not establish current purchase availability.
Drawdown rules explained with practical examples
Static maximum drawdown
For standard plans, the overall equity floor is anchored to the original account balance. A $100K Pro starts with a $95,000 floor; growing the balance to $105,000 does not lift that floor. Official Pro drawdown explanation.
| $100K example | Evaluation profit target | Overall loss allowance | Static equity floor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | $10,000 | $6,000 | $94,000 |
| Pro | $12,000 | $5,000 | $95,000 |
| Turbo | $9,000 | $3,000 | $97,000 |
The headline account balance is much larger than the amount a trader can actually lose. Position sizing should be designed around the remaining loss allowance. Floating losses, spreads, commissions and financing can consume that allowance even before a position is closed.
Daily loss resets at 00:30 UTC
The standard daily limit is 3% of the closed account balance at the 00:30 UTC reset. With $105,000 at reset, the published example produces a $101,850 daily floor. Open-position profit and loss still affects the equity used to test a breach. A balance display that looks healthy is therefore not enough. Official daily-loss calculation.
Track both limits because whichever floor is closer can become the binding restriction. The reset is not a fresh overall drawdown allowance. Leaving positions open through the reset requires particular care, since the reference balance changes while market exposure remains.
Breaches and retries
Reaching a loss-limit breach closes positions and forfeits the account. The current standard pricing page directs a failed trader to buy a new evaluation; it does not provide a free reset. Set a personal risk buffer inside the official limits rather than placing stops exactly on the breach line. Slippage can make a theoretical stop price different from the execution price. Program rules.
Funded accounts, profit split and payout conditions
Passing the trading target is followed by identity verification, the relevant funded-trader agreement and account approval before funded trading is enabled. Evaluation profits themselves are not withdrawable rewards. Standard funded accounts retain their model's loss rules, while the evaluation profit target no longer applies. The account remains a simulated trading environment for the trader; POL may decide whether to route trade ideas into its own market-facing activity. Funded trading environment.
| Payout topic | Published condition |
|---|---|
| Standard trader share | 80% |
| Optional trader share | 90% if the relevant package was purchased |
| Request schedule | On demand, including weekends |
| Minimum request | $50 after the profit split |
| Open positions | Must be closed before requesting |
| Account status | Must not be breached |
| Payment asset and network | USDC on Ethereum, ERC-20 |
| Processing | FAQ states 12–24 hours for approval, often sooner; not a guarantee |
| Total funded allocation | Up to $200,000 across funded accounts |
The payout FAQ requires an unbreached account with no open positions. The requested amount is deducted when submitted. A $50 net minimum corresponds to $62.50 of eligible profit at an 80% split, or about $55.56 at 90%, before any other applicable adjustments. Payout request conditions, payout methods.
Withdrawals also affect the displayed daily-loss floor: the full requested amount lowers that floor until the next 00:30 UTC recalculation. This is worth checking before resuming trading, rather than assuming that a withdrawal is irrelevant to risk limits. Payout and daily-loss interaction.
On-demand describes when a request can be made, not guaranteed instant delivery. Breakout expressly says payouts are not insured or guaranteed. Confirm the receiving wallet supports USDC on the specified network; the current FAQ does not promise bank, PayPal or alternative-chain payouts.
News trading, holding, copy trading and automation
| Trading practice | What the published rules support |
|---|---|
| News trading | Allowed, subject to normal rules and execution risks |
| Overnight and weekend holding | Allowed; financing and market risks remain |
| Consistency percentage | None specified for standard plans |
| Copying between different users | Prohibited |
| Cross-account hedging | Prohibited |
| Passing services / third-party off-the-shelf strategies | Prohibited under the program rules |
| EA or bot permission | No blanket permission independently confirmed; seek written clarification for a proposed setup |
Breakout permits trading through news events, but a permission is not a promise of normal liquidity, tight spreads or a specific fill. Traders remain responsible for loss limits. The distinction matters for CPI, FOMC and crypto-specific announcements. Official news-trading FAQ.
Do not interpret the lack of a consistency rule as unlimited permission to copy or hedge. The program rules restrict coordinated behavior, cross-account hedging, third-party strategies and services used to pass accounts. Within-account hedging has qualifications, so check the full rule rather than relying on a simple yes/no label. An unverified EA setting should not be read as an affirmative approval or a documented universal ban on all automation.
Platforms, instruments, leverage and trading costs
Breakout Terminal and mobile access
New purchases use Breakout Terminal and its separate mobile app. The terminal includes TradingView charting, USD position sizing and in-terminal risk information. DXtrade stopped being available for new purchases on 9 July 2026, while existing DXtrade evaluation and funded accounts were allowed to continue. This explains why some official FAQs still mention both platforms. The new mobile app is a separate download from the older app. Official DXtrade transition notice.
Crypto plus selected index and commodity markets
Breakout's core category is crypto prop trading. The standard symbol list includes BTC, ETH, SOL and other crypto markets alongside XYZ100, S&P500, silver and crude oil. The exact market list, maximum notional exposure and leverage vary by symbol. Current examples include BTC at 10x, ETH at 5x, and standard XYZ100/S&P500 at 10x; smaller crypto markets may have lower limits. Check the official symbols page and the terminal's instrument information before sizing a position.
Selected index instruments do not make Breakout an exchange-traded futures evaluation firm. Its own Spark explanation specifically distinguishes its leveraged terminal products from CME contracts, despite comparisons to NQ and ES exposure.
Commissions and holding charges
The standard program lists a 0.04% trading charge per side, equivalent to 0.08% for opening and closing the same notional amount. A $10,000 position therefore costs $4 each way, or $8 for the round trip, before spread, price movement or financing. These accounting charges reduce the program balance and can affect drawdown and eligible profit. Evaluation fee explanation.
Standard financing is 0.033% per day on open-position notional. On Breakout Terminal it is deducted in four-hour intervals; legacy DXtrade uses a daily schedule. At a constant $10,000 notional, a full day's stated rate corresponds to $3.30. Frequent trading and long holding periods can produce very different net results from the same gross strategy. Spark has separate non-crypto charges, so use its own schedule. Current symbol and financing specifications.
Company background, eligibility and refunds
Breakout says it has operated since 2023. Kraken publicly confirmed the acquisition in September 2025. This provides a verifiable corporate relationship, but it should not be presented as deposit insurance or as proof that every payout is guaranteed. Breakout's company announcement, Kraken's acquisition announcement.
The evaluation agreement identifies Breakout Trading Group, LLC as a Delaware company. Funded participation involves the separate POL counterparty, so read both agreements instead of treating the evaluation purchase as an ordinary personal brokerage deposit. Evaluation agreement.
Participants must be at least 18 and meet the identity-verification requirements before funded access is approved. Country eligibility can depend on residence and applicable restrictions; being able to load the website is not evidence that a trader will pass KYC. Check the current restricted-jurisdiction list before paying, particularly when living abroad or traveling.
Evaluation fees are generally non-refundable, with the pricing disclosure expressly addressing fees once trading begins. The dedicated KYC FAQ describes a narrow exception: if verification is rejected and support cannot resolve it after manual review, active evaluation accounts may be refunded. Do not assume every failed or inactive account qualifies. Refund policy FAQ, failed-KYC exception.
Editorial assessment: strengths, risks and trader fit
Why the review gives Breakout 90/100
The editorial score reflects a favorable assessment of the documented product structure: clearly differentiated standard accounts, static overall limits, flexible request timing for payouts and a visible corporate history. The expanded review also makes costs and operational restrictions easier to compare. No invented customer reviews, success rate, payout test or numerical subrating is used to support the score.
Practical strengths
- Every standard size has a visible one-time entry price, and no additional activation payment is described for passing those evaluations.
- Classic, Pro and Turbo offer meaningful choices between purchase cost, target and loss room.
- No minimum trading days or fixed consistency percentage forces an otherwise qualified trader to manufacture extra activity.
- News and weekend permissions support strategies that need access outside traditional market hours.
- On-demand USDC requests avoid a fixed weekly or monthly payout calendar.
Risks and limitations
- Turbo's small overall allowance can be unforgiving even though its entry fee is low.
- Floating losses and trading costs can trigger a breach before a trade is closed.
- A failed attempt can require another paid evaluation; repeated fees matter more than a small coupon saving.
- USDC-only payouts require careful network handling, and payment timing remains conditional.
- KYC, jurisdiction restrictions, counterparty terms and prohibited-strategy rules still apply after passing.
- Some official educational or legacy pages describe older products or platforms. Use the current configuration and agreement issued for the account.
Who should consider it?
Breakout is most relevant to traders who already have a repeatable crypto or supported-market strategy and can work within equity-based risk limits. Classic merits comparison when overall loss room is the priority; Pro trades a lower fee for a higher target; Turbo is a lower-cost test for a strategy that genuinely tolerates a narrow buffer. These are product-fit observations, not personal investment recommendations.
Someone who needs CME futures execution, a standard bank payout, guaranteed rewards or unrestricted third-party automation should resolve those requirements before purchasing. A nominal $100K or $200K balance is not a reason by itself to select a larger account. Start the comparison with affordable fee risk, actual drawdown room and the strategy's costs.
Bottom line
Breakout Prop earns a 90/100 PFA editorial score in this review. Its standard one-step plans offer transparent price choices, static overall drawdown and flexible payout requests, with real trade-offs around daily equity limits, execution costs and eligibility. COMPARE is the supplied 5% coupon code, and the detailed tables show the calculated savings on every current standard 80% package. Verify the code, final price and account terms before payment. No review score or discount removes the risk of losing the evaluation fee.
