Alpha Futures Session Close Rules + Coupon Code COMPARE

Alpha Futures' trading-hours guide requires positions to be closed before 4:20 p.m., using the page's “EST” wording. That is earlier than the general futures-session close described on the same page. Build an account-specific close routine and verify the platform's clock, especially around daylight-saving and holiday changes.

Checked: 9 October 2026. Verified code: COMPARE, up to 50% off eligible account purchases. The actual discount depends on the selected offer.

Use the firm's cutoff rather than the chart's closing candle

The official trading-hours guide describes a usual futures session from 6 p.m. to 5 p.m. the next day, but separately requires all trades to be closed before 4:20 p.m. It says the firm will close forgotten trades and recommends traders manage their own closure so they know the result in real time.

The practical distinction is between the market's broad session and the earlier account deadline. An open chart, an updating quote or a familiar exchange close time does not replace the firm's rule. Record the applicable close instruction alongside the account identifier and platform.

This article does not invent a grace period, guaranteed liquidation price or universal holiday cutoff. The ordinary schedule is a starting point for checking the actual trading day.

Resolve the timezone before setting an alarm

The help page uses “EST” throughout. Traders should confirm whether their dashboard and current account notices implement fixed standard time or local Eastern time across daylight-saving changes. Do not silently convert the label into a permanent UTC appointment.

A useful clock record contains the source's exact wording, the platform's timezone, your device timezone and the verified local cutoff for the date. Update it when travelling or when a device changes its automatic timezone. An alarm that was correct last month can be wrong if either clock changes.

Ask support a concrete question if the display is unclear: what is the close cutoff for this account and platform on this specific date, expressed with a UTC offset? A dated answer is more useful than a general comment that the firm uses New York time.

Treat shortened sessions as a separate check

The CME trading-hours calendar provides exchange schedules and holiday information. Use the relevant product and date; do not assume a schedule for one contract applies to every market.

An exchange schedule does not itself authorize an Alpha account to remain open until that exchange close. Compare the exchange information with Alpha's current notice and account rules. Where either source creates an earlier practical stopping point, resolve the discrepancy before the session, rather than while trying to exit.

Keep the source date on any saved holiday sheet. A screenshot without a year, product or timezone can become misleading when reused. This is especially important for traders who switch between instruments during the same week.

Build a closing checklist around confirmed states

The following is an editorial operating checklist, not a new Alpha rule:

  1. Confirm the account, platform, date and applicable cutoff before trading.
  2. Set a personal preparation reminder early enough to review every open position and working order.
  3. Review linked or copied accounts individually rather than assuming the lead account represents all of them.
  4. Complete the planned position closures within the applicable rules.
  5. Check the resulting position list and remaining order states after execution.
  6. Save the session result and any unresolved platform message.

“Close sent” and “position flat” are different states. A journal should record what the platform confirms, including residual quantity after any partial result. If the interface disconnects, use the official platform and support procedures; do not assume the last local screen proves what happened remotely.

Likewise, review remaining working orders after becoming flat. Do not assume an exit has removed every instruction that could create fresh exposure. Follow the selected platform's documented cancellation behavior and confirm the visible result.

A short scenario shows why preparation time matters

Imagine a trader has three accounts and starts checking them only seconds before the cutoff. One account is flat, another still has a position, and the third has a working entry. Looking only at the first account could produce a false sense that the session is finished.

A clearer record has one line per account: position quantity, working-order count, last confirmed update and any unresolved action. The example does not prescribe a specific number of minutes as an official buffer. Choose enough preparation time for your actual workflow, device and number of accounts.

After the session, compare intended exits with confirmed fills and net results. If asking support about an automatic closure, provide account ID, instrument, timestamp, order history and the relevant notice. Preserve the original records rather than reconstructing a narrative from the closing balance alone.

News restrictions remain a separate check. The Alpha news-window guide explains stage-specific execution restrictions. A daily-close routine should be planned together with those rules, not used to assume an exception.

Monthly prices and the conditional maximum discount

The official Standard product page currently publishes these regular monthly evaluation fees. COMPARE offers up to 50%; the last two columns show the maximum scenario only.

These calculations are not guaranteed checkout prices. A smaller accepted rate gives a higher initial payment. Renewals, resets, optional services, taxes and other charges need separate treatment. The official sources conflict on billing after qualification. Standard's current product page describes the monthly price continuing after qualification, while the monthly-subscription guide says evaluation subscriptions end after passing and Qualified accounts have no monthly charge. Confirm the billing terms for your specific purchase in writing. Do not infer that either description applies universally, and do not treat the absence of an activation fee as proof that recurring charges end.

Choose the intended account, size and platform, confirm its recurring terms, enter COMPARE and inspect the actual discount and complete total. Keep the purchase record with the rules that apply to your trading stage. Read the current PFA coupon and Alpha Futures review for broader context.
