For session planning, the important number is the firm's published 4:10 p.m. New York closing time, with trading listed from 6:00 p.m. to 4:10 p.m. Its trading-hours policy says open positions are automatically closed at that cutoff and that the automatic close itself is not an account breach.
Use CFP for up to 45% off all Blue Guardian Futures accounts, including Standard, Reserve, Express and Direct. Verified on 12 October 2026 by Yash R. The rate depends on the selected account configuration; 45% is the maximum offer, not a guaranteed reduction on every order.
Official trading-hours policy checked 10 October 2026. The source writes “EST” and “NY Time” together. This guide preserves the New York clock reference rather than assigning a permanent UTC offset. Read the official trading-hours policy and the PFA futures review alongside the terms issued for your account.
What automatic closing does and does not establish
| Question | What the published rule establishes | What still needs checking |
|---|---|---|
| When does the usual session end? | 4:10 p.m. on the published New York clock | Any account-specific or holiday notice |
| What happens to an open position? | It is automatically closed | Actual fill, costs and resulting balance |
| Is that close itself a rule violation? | The hours page says no | Other loss and conduct rules remain separate |
| Can I assume resting orders disappear? | The page does not specify every order type | Inspect working orders in the platform |
An automatic exit is an execution event. It is not a guarantee that the fill will equal the last chart price or that the position's profit will be preserved. This matters particularly if a trade plan assumes it can remain open beyond the firm's session.
Build the exit into the trade before entering
Use the earlier of your strategy's intended exit and the permitted account cutoff when deciding how long a position can remain open. A setup whose expected holding period extends beyond the available session is a different trade from the same setup with no time constraint.
A simple execution-cost example
Assume a hypothetical position is showing $180 gross profit before closing. Suppose the eventual exit reduces that by $30 relative to the displayed mark, and total trading costs are $10. The result becomes $140 net, not $180.
| Component | Illustrative amount |
|---|---|
| Gross marked profit | $180 |
| Difference between marked and executed result | -$30 |
| Assumed total costs | -$10 |
| Net result | $140 |
These are invented scenario inputs, not Blue Guardian Futures fee or slippage quotes. Their purpose is to show why a trader should calculate from confirmed executions. If the account is close to a payout threshold or loss level, the difference can matter even though the automatic closing process is permitted.
A practical end-of-session routine
Before the last planned entry
Check the selected account, instrument, chart timezone and remaining session. Decide whether the strategy has enough time to operate normally. A timer on one browser tab should not be the only record of the deadline.
While flattening
Inspect both positions and pending orders. A flat position display and an empty order list answer different questions. Verify cancellations rather than repeatedly submitting commands when a platform is slow. Duplicate orders can create new exposure.
After the session
Save actual fills and net results. Reconcile the execution platform with the firm dashboard, allowing for any published update process. If a disagreement remains, retain account ID, order IDs and timestamps for support rather than trying to resolve it by taking another trade.
This checklist is editorial guidance. It does not claim that Blue Guardian Futures requires a specific personal reminder or guarantees how every third-party platform handles order cancellation.
New York time, travel and holiday uncertainty
Do not read a remembered “EST” abbreviation as an instruction to fix every calendar alert permanently to UTC minus five. The official article also calls it New York time; the account's current session display or a written support answer should resolve any uncertainty during clock changes.
When travelling, record the firm's clock and your local clock side by side. Recheck both at the start of a new week and after a daylight-saving change. Exchange holiday schedules can differ from ordinary sessions, and the brief trading-hours page does not publish a complete holiday calendar. Check current firm notices and the specific contract session before assuming the usual cutoff applies.
Account loss rules continue during the session
The hours page does not replace model-specific daily or maximum loss controls. A forced exit at the scheduled close can be permitted while an earlier loss-limit event is still consequential. Blue Guardian Futures' Standard account rules separately describe equity/balance-based daily controls and an EOD maximum-loss model.
The same distinction applies to permission around news events. For that separate topic, see evaluation versus live news rules. Do not import another prop firm's close time or a CFD account's holding rules into the futures account.
Current purchase fees and CFP savings
These $50,000 examples cover all four account models. Regular fees were checked in the official Futures checkout on 10 October 2026, with one account and a blank coupon field. Each row keeps its platform and selected settings explicit.
| Account model and platform | Account size | Regular base fee (USD) | Code | Offer | Saving if 45% applies (USD) | Final base fee if 45% applies (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard / Tradovate | $50,000 | $209.00 | CFP | Up to 45% | $94.05 | $114.95 |
| Reserve / Tradovate / DLL on / selected 50% evaluation consistency | $50,000 | $128.00 | CFP | Up to 45% | $57.60 | $70.40 |
| Express Challenge / Tradovate / 40% evaluation consistency | $50,000 | $130.00 | CFP | Up to 45% | $58.50 | $71.50 |
| Direct / Tradovate | $50,000 | $452.00 | CFP | Up to 45% | $203.40 | $248.60 |
These are maximum-discount calculations, not coupon-tested checkout quotes. At the full 45% rate, savings equal the regular base fee × 0.45 and the final base equals the regular fee × 0.55. A smaller applied rate produces a higher price. Use the regular fee for the exact model, platform and options; do not apply CFP again to an already discounted campaign or assume stacking.
The Reserve row specifies DLL on and 50% evaluation consistency. Official surfaces disagree about the default selection; these prices apply only to the stated configuration. Choosing 40% consistency changes the configured fee through a separate adjustment; the table does not apply CFP to that adjustment. Optional settings and their coupon treatment must be checked separately. A shared nominal balance also does not mean equal loss allowances or payout access across models.
The CFP coupon page contains the offer record. Taxes, currency conversion, optional data, upgrades, resets and reactivations are separate unless the selected order expressly includes them. The official futures introduction describes one-time entry fees without monthly renewal or funded activation charges. No fixed coupon expiry is confirmed.
