Breakout Prop prohibits using one trading approach to pass an evaluation and switching to another once funded. For the $200K 1-Step Pro account, that makes strategy continuity part of the purchase decision alongside its $24,000 target and $190,000 static equity floor. A trade-method record can explain your decisions; it cannot guarantee the firm's approval. Official funded trading restrictions.

What the strategy rule actually covers
The evaluation restrictions specifically prohibit third-party or off-the-shelf approaches marketed to pass evaluations. They also prohibit copied trade ideas, including signals from communities, social media and research reports. Paying for a strategy or receiving a signal for free does not establish permission to use it.
The funded-stage restrictions separately address third-party methods, copied ideas and evaluation-to-funded switching. They also cover hard-to-execute approaches, outsized unrealized-profit/loss swings and cross-account hedging. Reaching the numerical target does not override these conduct requirements.
The documents do not publish a percentage change in size, a permitted number of new markets or a holding-period threshold that guarantees continuity. A smaller position after passing is therefore not something this article can automatically certify as compliant. Describe uncertain changes to official support before implementing them, with enough detail for a useful answer.
Build a record of your own decision process
The following is an original recordkeeping suggestion, not an official compliance checklist. Before the evaluation, write a dated description of how you independently identify a setup, choose a market, decide an entry and exit, and limit combined exposure. Keep the description understandable without relying on a paid signal provider's explanation.
For each trading-method version, record:
- The version date, markets and typical holding horizon
- The observable conditions that trigger or cancel your own trade idea
- How size and stop placement are determined, including concurrent positions
- How news, overnight exposure, spread and financing affect the decision
- Actual order IDs, fills and reasons for departures from the written method
- Any proposed funded-stage change, its reason and the provider's response
Preserve the original version when making notes later. Otherwise, a rewritten plan can make it difficult to distinguish what was intended before a trade from an explanation written afterward. Keep support replies with the exact question and account context.
For example, suppose your evaluation notes describe personally identified intraday setups, but your funded plan would follow an external signal channel and hold overnight. Those records expose concrete differences to discuss; they do not make the switch permissible. Conversely, describing both methods with the same broad label does not establish continuity. PFA's trading-journal guide supplies general record fields.
Pro $200K rules in dollars
The published account rules specify one evaluation step, a 12% target and 5% static maximum loss. For $200,000, that means:
- Profit target: $24,000
- Initial total loss allowance: $10,000
- Static equity floor: $190,000
- Separate daily limit: 3%; initially $6,000, giving a $194,000 floor
Account balances are simulated capital, not $200,000 transferred to your bank account. The funded Pro drawdown FAQ confirms that the static floor remains fixed after balance growth.
The evaluation daily-loss calculation uses closed balance at 00:30 UTC × 0.97. Live equity includes open profit or loss when testing the limits. Touching or falling below either floor breaches the account.
Original arithmetic example: a later $204,000 reset balance produces a $197,880 daily floor. At $198,500 equity, daily headroom is $620, even though the static-floor distance is $8,500. This hypothetical snapshot assumes no earlier breach and is not an official case or suggested trade budget.
Costs and trading permissions still matter
The current symbol specifications list 0.04% commission per side and 0.033% daily financing on position notional, deducted every four hours on the Breakout Prop terminal. Spread varies. At equal $50,000 entry and exit notionals, approximate round-trip commission is $40 before financing or slippage. These performance deductions consume equity headroom.
Leverage and notional caps vary by instrument; check the live specification for your market. There is no profit-consistency percentage requirement, but the strategy restrictions still apply. News trading and overnight/weekend holding are allowed, subject to account rules and market availability. The program rules impose additional conditions on same-account hedging; an enabled feature is not blanket permission for every use.
There are no minimum trading days or maximum evaluation deadline. However, the evaluation agreement and funded agreement provide for access suspension after 90 consecutive calendar days without transactions, with support reactivation required.
Passing, approval and payouts
Passing makes you eligible for funded status, subject to KYC, signing the funded agreement and approval. Evaluation profits are not withdrawable. A $200K funded account also uses the published $200K aggregate funded allocation ceiling.
The standard trader share is 80%, or 90% with the purchased upgrade. Payout requests are on demand, with no open positions and an unbreached account. The minimum is $50 after the split, paid in USDC on Ethereum ERC-20. Approval can take 12–24 hours; that is not a guaranteed wallet-arrival deadline.
