FundingPips 1 Step Flex Daily Loss: Opening Balance vs Equity

FundingPips 1 Step Flex calculates its 3% daily-loss limit from the higher of the account’s opening balance or opening equity for that day. If open positions make opening equity higher than balance, the higher equity becomes the baseline.

Daily-loss baseline formula

At the start of the provider’s trading day:

  1. Record opening balance.
  2. Record opening equity.
  3. Select the higher value.
  4. Multiply that value by 3%.
  5. Monitor equity against the resulting loss allowance.

FundingPips states that floating and closed losses count during the day.

Example: balance is higher

Opening balance: $100,000

Opening equity: $99,500

Higher baseline: $100,000

3% × $100,000 = $3,000

The daily-loss allowance is $3,000 under this simplified example.

Example: equity is higher

Opening balance: $105,000

Opening equity: $107,000

Higher baseline: $107,000

3% × $107,000 = $3,210

FundingPips’ official help article uses the same higher-value method. A trader should rely on the dashboard for the exact threshold because costs and live positions can alter equity.

The 12% static floor is separate

The maximum-loss limit is 12% of the starting account size.

For a 100K account:

  • Starting size: $100,000
  • Maximum loss: $12,000
  • Static floor: $88,000

The floor does not trail profitable highs, but touching it through balance or equity breaches the account. A $3,000 daily allowance does not provide permission to use all remaining static drawdown in one session.

Overnight positions can change the opening baseline

If a position remains open across the daily reset, its unrealized result can affect opening equity. When opening equity is above balance, the new daily baseline can be higher.

Swaps, spread changes and price gaps also affect equity. Record the dashboard values at the daily boundary rather than estimating from the prior session’s close.

The wider 12% static limit on 1 Step Flex is paired with a higher 12% target. The choice should reflect strategy volatility, not only phase count.

How to use AUDIT

  1. Open FundingPips’ official checkout.
  2. Select 1 Step Flex and the account size.
  3. Review the reward-cycle option and current rules.
  4. Enter AUDIT.
  5. Confirm 10% off in the order summary.
  6. Check final currency and all charges.
  7. Save the agreement.

A 10% discount means a participating fee is multiplied by 0.90. Use the live fee rather than an old price table.

Risk checklist

  • Record opening balance and equity daily.
  • Use the higher number for the 3% baseline.
  • Track open and closed losses together.
  • Keep a buffer for spread, commission and swaps.
  • Monitor the $88,000 static floor in a 100K example.
  • Recheck after overnight positions.
  • Do not confuse no minimum days with no risk limits.

Bottom line

FundingPips 1 Step Flex gives a wide 12% static maximum-loss allowance, but daily risk is limited to 3% of the higher opening balance or equity. Track both dashboard values at the reset and apply AUDIT only after confirming the checkout reduction.
