FundingPips 2 Step Standard Striking System: Four Warnings Explained
Understand FundingPips 2 Step Standard’s striking system, warning sequence, inactivity rule and how code AUDIT applies at checkout.

FundingPips uses a lifetime striking system on larger 2 Step Standard Master Accounts. A loss of at least 1.2% on one trade idea can trigger a warning, and the consequences escalate from a profit deduction to an account breach. The safest approach is to size every related entry as one combined idea, not as separate risk allowances.

Where the striking system applies
FundingPips’ current 2 Step Standard page states that the striking system applies on Master Accounts above $25,000. It measures a trade idea, so splitting a position into several entries does not necessarily create several independent 1.2% limits.
The official page describes the trigger as a loss of 1.2% or more on one trade idea. Traders should treat correlated entries, scale-ins and re-entries around the same thesis conservatively. If support classifies them as one idea, their combined loss matters.

The four-warning sequence
| Lifetime warning | Published consequence |
|---|---|
| First | Profit deduction |
| Second | Reward share reduced by half |
| Third | Reward share reduced to 20% |
| Fourth | Account breach |
These warnings are cumulative over the life of the account. They are not a daily allowance that automatically resets at the next session.
Why the first warning still matters
A profit deduction can change the balance and reduce the cushion above the loss threshold. It can also delay a reward request if the remaining profit no longer satisfies current conditions.
Why warnings two and three change expected cash flow
A lower reward share changes how much of an approved amount reaches the trader. It does not make the risk limit wider. Continuing with the same position size after a warning can compound the problem.
Why warning four is different
The fourth warning ends the account. A trader should therefore track warnings independently from the platform balance and daily-loss display.
A practical risk budget
Suppose a trader chooses a personal maximum idea loss of 0.5% rather than trading near the 1.2% trigger.
- Define the invalidation price before entry.
- Convert the stop distance into money per contract or lot.
- Add the risk of every scale-in tied to the same thesis.
- Include expected spread, commission and slippage.
- Reduce size if the combined amount exceeds 0.5%.
- Record the result as one idea in the journal.
This leaves room for execution differences. It is an editorial example, not a FundingPips requirement.
Do not confuse striking with account loss limits
The 2 Step Standard evaluation currently lists an 8% Phase 1 target, a 5% Phase 2 target, a 5% daily loss limit and a 10% maximum loss limit. The striking system is a separate Master-stage control.
A position can stay inside the daily and maximum loss limits yet still create a strike if one trade idea loses enough. Conversely, a series of smaller losses could breach an account limit without any single idea reaching the striking threshold.

Inactivity can be missed when trades remain open
FundingPips states that the account can be closed after 30 days of inactivity. Its 2 Step Standard guidance also says that leaving a trade open does not reset the inactivity counter; the trader needs account activity recognized by the program.
This matters for swing traders who assume an open position counts as ongoing activity. Record the last qualifying action date and set a reminder well before the deadline.
