Maven's Standard news restriction can affect an automatic target close, not just a manual entry. The official FAQ says a trade closed by the automatic profit-target feature during the restricted news window can prevent a challenge pass. Entering before a release therefore does not automatically protect the result if the exit occurs inside the window.

Read the restriction as an execution-time rule

The official Maven FAQ restricts opening or closing around red-folder releases for the relevant Standard accounts: two minutes before and two minutes after. It expressly includes take-profit executions and automatic target closes. Instant accounts have an exception in the FAQ, so the Standard rule should not be exported indiscriminately to every Maven product.

The practical implication is straightforward: record both entry and exit time. A journal that marks a trade safe solely because it opened earlier is incomplete. The later execution can still matter. This is especially relevant when an evaluation is close to its target and the trader is relying on the platform's automatic close rather than a manually entered take-profit order.

A hypothetical release-time worksheet

Earlier entry, restricted exit

Assume an affected release is scheduled for 13:30 in the clock you have correctly matched to the platform. A position opened at 13:20 closes automatically at 13:30:30. The entry is ten minutes early, but the close is inside the two-minute-after period. The earlier entry does not erase that timestamp.

This example explains a compliance problem; it is not a live economic-calendar forecast. Always establish the actual event, affected instruments and platform clock for the session being traded. Do not copy a sample time into an active trading plan.

Avoid boundary-second assumptions

A plan built around the exact second when a window ends leaves little room for a clock mismatch, execution delay or event-time correction. This guide does not invent an additional firm-required buffer. It recommends documenting a practical operational margin appropriate to the trader's setup rather than assuming that every device displays the same time perfectly.

If the account is near its target, decide before the release whether the intended position can remain consistent with both risk management and the news rule. Do not cancel a protective exit merely to preserve eligibility. The appropriate response can be to avoid the setup rather than force a trade through conflicting constraints.

Current Standard fees and AUDIT savings

The official Maven price page distinguishes Standard 1-Step, 2-Step and 3-Step. These smaller-account examples use regular base prices, not the rounded promotional display. All amounts are USD.

Optional items, tax and future charges are excluded. These are base-fee calculations, not a claim that every checkout displays cents in the same way. Using a low-priced account does not relax the news rule, and a discounted entry is not a reason to ignore execution conditions.

Separate three kinds of evidence

A useful review folder contains the economic-calendar entry, the platform trade statement and the account's rule version or issued terms. Each answers a different question. The calendar establishes the event reference, the statement establishes actual executions, and the terms establish the rule applied to that account.

A screenshot of a profitable balance is not enough to explain a timing dispute. It may show the outcome without showing the close reason, exact time or instrument. Exported transaction detail is usually more useful for reconciliation than a cropped chart. Keep all relevant executions together so a partial close is not omitted from the review.

News compliance is different from profitable-day counting

A result can be large enough for a daily threshold yet still need a separate news-compliance check. The Maven profitable-day guide covers day counting; it does not replace the event-time rule. Likewise, the Mini guide concerns another product and should not be used to infer Standard permissions.

Before submitting or relying on a pass, compare the account's displayed status with the relevant execution history. If the platform has automatically closed positions, record that fact rather than assuming the automation exempts the trade. An automatic action can be mechanically correct while its timing still falls inside an account restriction.

Build the checklist before the session

Start with the selected Standard model, then review affected releases, existing positions, pending orders, take-profit levels and distance to the evaluation target. Keep the checklist short enough to use consistently. Its purpose is to prevent an overlooked automatic exit, not to create an elaborate document nobody reads during trading.

The useful lesson is that execution method and rule compliance are separate. A manual close, take profit and account-target auto-close may reach the same economic result, but all need to be considered against the account's timing restrictions. AUDIT reduces the entry cost; it does not change this operational responsibility.

Applying the offer without changing the account rules

  1. Read the Maven Trading review and the current coupon terms.
  2. Open the official firm website linked above and choose the exact model, size and platform discussed here.
  3. Keep optional upgrades separate from the base fee. Select the appropriate code before payment; do not stack it with another promotion.
  4. Compare the order summary with the relevant base-fee calculation. Keep a record of the model, purchase date, discount and any separately charged options.
  5. After receiving the account, use its dashboard and agreement to record the applicable limits before placing a trade.

A coupon changes the purchase cost. It does not convert a simulated balance into money you own, waive trading restrictions, or guarantee a performance reward. Budget the fee as money that can be lost if the evaluation or funded account fails. For a broader comparison, the PFA coupon directory separates offers by firm so similarly named CFD and futures products are not confused.

Yes. Maven’s FAQ explicitly says automatic target closes during the restricted news period can prevent the trader from passing.
