Alpha Swing permits weekend positions in evaluation and qualified accounts, but news permission is conditional. A trade initiated within two minutes either side of a news release must last more than two minutes. A strategy can therefore be permitted to hold through an event without every possible short-duration entry around that event being acceptable.
Build the event plan around the actual permission
The official Alpha Swing guide lists two evaluation targets of 10% and 5%, a 10% static maximum loss, 5% daily drawdown and three minimum trading days per phase. Swing uses the on-demand payout package. FX leverage is 1:30, while other instruments have their own limits. These terms establish the account structure; they do not describe a risk-free way to trade a release.
A release-time example
For a hypothetical event at 14:30, a new position at 14:29 sits inside the special four-minute entry window. Closing it at 14:30 would produce only a one-minute holding period. Holding beyond 14:31 addresses the duration condition, but does not by itself establish that the entire strategy meets every conduct rule. This is an illustration of timing, not a suggestion to keep a losing trade open to satisfy a timer.
The practical answer is to decide before the event whether the trade belongs in the plan at all. If a setup normally exits within seconds, a rule requiring more than two minutes can make that setup unsuitable. Do not enter first and then discover that the preferred exit conflicts with the account terms.
Permission and speculative behavior are separate tests
Alpha Capital's news-policy page gives model-specific windows and affected instruments. Its gambling-policy page also considers unusually large positions, departures from normal holding periods and speculative event activity. Passing a stopwatch test is not a substitute for a consistent trading approach.
Create an event worksheet with the release name, impacted symbols, account model, server-time equivalent and planned position action. Record open positions as well as proposed orders. This makes an overlooked cross-market exposure easier to spot: a trader watching a currency position might also have an index position affected by the same release. Use the firm's affected-instrument list rather than assuming an announcement concerns only the currency in its name.
Weekend holding needs a separate risk decision
Swing's weekend permission applies both before and after qualification. It removes a mandatory closing restriction; it does not remove market gaps, financing costs or the possibility of opening beyond an intended stop level.
A useful Friday review separates three questions: is holding permitted, is there enough room inside the account's limits, and does the position still fit the trading thesis? Only the first question is answered by the word Swing. For the other two, calculate exposure using the current position, including any correlated trades, instead of the original entry assumptions.
| Planning item | What to record | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Event timing | Release time and platform equivalent | Prevents using the wrong clock |
| Entry classification | Inside or outside the special news window | Determines whether the duration condition applies |
| Weekend exposure | Open instruments and combined size | Permission is not a loss guarantee |
| Available room | Current equity relative to applicable limits | A nominal account size is not a risk budget |
| Exit evidence | Order history and execution timestamps | Helps reconcile actual fills with the plan |
Swing base fees and the two purchase scopes
The official Alpha Capital selector supplies the regular Swing fees below. Calculations exclude optional profit-share and swap-free upgrades, taxes and other charges. They use the regular base fee, not an already discounted sale price.
| Plan | Size | Regular USD | Code | Discount | Savings USD | Final base USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Swing on-demand | $5K | $70.00 | COMPARE50 | 50% first purchase | $35.00 | $35.00 |
| Swing on-demand | $5K | $70.00 | COMPARE | 30% later | $21.00 | $49.00 |
| Swing on-demand | $50K | $357.00 | COMPARE50 | 50% first purchase | $178.50 | $178.50 |
| Swing on-demand | $50K | $357.00 | COMPARE | 30% later | $107.10 | $249.90 |
| Swing on-demand | $100K | $577.00 | COMPARE50 | 50% first purchase | $288.50 | $288.50 |
| Swing on-demand | $100K | $577.00 | COMPARE | 30% later | $173.10 | $403.90 |
For example, a $50K first purchase saves $178.50; a later purchase saves $107.10. That difference concerns acquisition cost, not the trade-duration rule, drawdown room or reward eligibility. Someone choosing Swing only for a lower coupon price should still compare the ongoing strategy fit before buying.
Keep the event journal separate from the payout journal
News compliance documents when and why positions were executed. The payout journal records the conditions for a reward request. Combining them into a single profit total can conceal an execution issue. Keep timestamped trading evidence and the current on-demand requirements together, but check them independently.
For the separate schedule decision, see the Alpha Pro payout-package guide. That guide concerns Pro; it should not be used to replace Swing's own model rules. A successful plan is one that remains coherent before an event, through a weekend and at review, rather than one built around a single advertised permission.
Applying the offer without changing the account rules
- Read the Alpha Capital review and the current coupon terms.
- Open the official firm website linked above and choose the exact model, size and platform discussed here.
- Keep optional upgrades separate from the base fee. Select the appropriate code before payment; do not stack it with another promotion.
- Compare the order summary with the relevant base-fee calculation. Keep a record of the model, purchase date, discount and any separately charged options.
- After receiving the account, use its dashboard and agreement to record the applicable limits before placing a trade.
A coupon changes the purchase cost. It does not convert a simulated balance into money you own, waive trading restrictions, or guarantee a performance reward. Budget the fee as money that can be lost if the evaluation or funded account fails. For a broader comparison, the PFA coupon directory separates offers by firm so similarly named CFD and futures products are not confused.
