Breakout Prop Classic $25K Hedge Mode is conditional: the existing same-asset position must have substantial unrealized profit or loss, and Breakout Prop must regard the new leg as standalone. No numerical threshold is published. The standard $215 evaluation calculates to $204.25 with promo code COMPARE at 5% off.
These hedging conditions also apply beyond the $25K size; the examples below use Classic $25K dollar figures.

Classic $25K price in October 2026
The official pricing page lists the standard 80% trader-share configuration below.
| Plan | Account size | Regular price (USD) | Coupon code | Discount | Savings (USD) | Final price after discount (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1-Step Classic, standard 80% share | $25,000 | $215.00 | COMPARE | 5% | $10.75 | $204.25 |
The 5% saving is $215 × 0.05 = $10.75. This is a one-time base evaluation fee, excluding applicable taxes or separate options; no recurring subscription or post-pass activation fee is stated. The optional 90% share costs 20% extra: $43, giving a $258 regular package. Do not assume COMPARE discounts the add-on. Verify the current coupon terms and complete order total before paying.

Read the full condition before using Hedge Mode
The short hedging FAQ describes the enabled mode. The fuller Program Rules add the same-asset condition summarized above: one account, substantial unrealized P/L already present, and a new leg judged independently rather than engineered to capture gains while offsetting losses. The firm judges sufficiency.
Order acceptance does not establish permission. Do not invent an approval test from account size or elapsed time.
A support question is more useful than a guessed threshold
Hypothetical example: a $25K trader has an existing BTC long with $300 unrealized profit and is considering a short. This guide cannot classify $300 as substantial or certify the proposed leg. The number is illustrative, not a recommended threshold.
For a meaningful clarification, describe the existing position, its history and the intended purpose of the new position to official support. Ask which published condition governs the plan. Keep the answer with your records, without treating a generic response as blanket approval of future trades. If the strategy requires a precise safe-harbor percentage that the firm has not provided, its compatibility remains unresolved.
Cross-account and copying restrictions still matter
The official hedging FAQ prohibits opposite exposure across accounts on the same or closely correlated assets, including evaluation/funded combinations, and coordinated cross-trader hedging. Copying between different users is also prohibited. Account ownership does not create an exception.
A confirmed violation can terminate associated accounts, forfeit accrued profits and permanently suspend participation. A discretionary warning for an inadvertent first violation is not an entitlement.
The separate prohibited-trading FAQ also restricts account arbitrage, third-party pass services, copied trade ideas and platform exploitation. A trading plan needs to satisfy these conduct rules as well as its numerical limits. No bot, signal service or order-entry feature supplies an automatic exemption.
Two legs create gross costs even with small net exposure
This is a hypothetical cost illustration, not an approved hedge or position-size recommendation. Assume two positions each have unchanged $10,000 notional through entry and exit. At the published evaluation commission, each leg costs approximately $4 to open and $4 to close: $16 combined before spread, slippage or financing.
That $16 consumes about 2.13% of the account's initial $750 daily allowance. Opposite directions do not remove the orders that generated those charges. Actual exit notional can change, so exact debits differ from this constant-notional example.
The standard Symbols specifications set financing at 0.033% daily, deducted every four hours on the Breakout Prop terminal. Two constant $10,000 legs carried through a full daily schedule imply about $6.60 combined financing. Check each recorded charge; the legacy DXtrade schedule differs. Leverage, margin and instrument caps still need separate review.
Net profit and equity headroom are different calculations
Consider an independent hypothetical snapshot with no earlier breach or payout: closed balance $25,000, one leg at +$500 and the other at −$450. Before further charges, equity is $25,050, giving $800 above the initial $24,250 daily floor. The winning leg's $500 alone does not describe the account's profit or available room.
This illustration says nothing about whether that position pair is permitted. It shows why a review should record both legs and costs together. Closing one side changes the remaining directional exposure; closing a winner also changes closed balance used at the next daily reset. Recalculate rather than assuming a hedge freezes account risk.
The funded Classic rule keeps the overall floor static at 6% below starting balance. A different daily floor may be more restrictive. Touching either limit is a breach.
Checks before purchase and before a payout
Check news permission and weekend holding separately from hedge permission. Read PFA's eligibility and refund checklist before payment. The refund policy is limited; support-reviewed KYC rejection can qualify active evaluations. Strategy incompatibility should not be treated as a refundable trial.
After passing, KYC, agreement signing and funded approval remain required. Funded payout requests are on demand with no open positions and no breach, including closure of both legs. The minimum is $50 after the split, paid in USDC on Ethereum ERC-20. The stated 12–24 hour approval window does not promise delivery within that period.
For broader context, read the Breakout Prop review and PFA's leverage, margin and position-size explanation.

No numerical threshold is published. A dollar amount or account percentage cannot be treated as a safe harbor; obtain clarification from official support.
Cross-account hedging is prohibited, including evaluation/funded combinations and closely correlated assets. Owning both accounts does not remove the restriction.
No. Orders on both legs incur commission, and open positions can incur financing. Track gross notional, actual debits, spreads and slippage rather than relying only on net exposure.
The $215 standard base fee has a calculated 5% saving of $10.75 and a final base price of $204.25. Taxes and separate options must be checked in the order summary.
The payout requirements include having no open positions and no breach. Both legs must be closed, the $50 post-split minimum must be met, and approval still applies.
