Breakout Prop Daily Loss Reset: 00:30 UTC in Your Time Zone + COMPARE Code

Breakout Prop resets its 3% daily loss limit at 00:30 UTC every day, including weekends. For traders in India that is 06:00 IST; in New York it is 19:30 the previous evening; in London it is 00:30 GMT. Knowing the exact local time matters because the daily floor is calculated from the closed balance at that moment, open positions are excluded from the reference balance, and floating P&L is checked against the new floor immediately.

This guide converts the Breakout Prop daily reset into major trading time zones, works through the floor calculation with examples, and explains how payouts and open positions interact with the reset. Rules are from Breakout Prop's official daily loss and payout help articles, reviewed on 1 November 2026. Coupon code COMPARE gives 5% off standard Classic, Pro and Turbo evaluation fees.

In this guide:

  1. 00:30 UTC in your time zone
  2. How the daily floor is calculated
  3. Worked examples: flat, profitable and losing days
  4. Open positions across the reset
  5. Payouts and the daily floor
  6. Daily floor vs static overall floor
  7. Checklist and COMPARE coupon code

Daylight-saving shifts move the local time by one hour in the US, UK and EU between March and October/November. The UTC time never changes. Crypto markets trade 24/7, so the reset happens on Saturdays and Sundays as well.

How the daily floor is calculated

Daily equity floor = closed balance at 00:30 UTC × 0.97.

Three details from the official rule:

  • The reference balance is the closed balance. Open positions are excluded from it.
  • Floating profit or loss on open positions is counted when equity is compared to the floor.
  • The floor is recalculated once per day. It does not move intraday as you gain or lose.

The 3% daily limit applies to Classic, Pro and Turbo. Spark has no separate daily limit and uses a trailing floor instead.

Worked examples

Flat day on a $100K account

ItemValue
Closed balance at 00:30 UTC$100,000
Daily loss amount$3,000
Daily floor$97,000

Profitable day

ItemValue
Closed balance at 00:30 UTC$105,000
Daily loss amount$3,150
Daily floor$101,850

The daily floor rose by $4,850 after a $5,000 gain. On a Classic account the static floor is $94,000, so the daily floor at $101,850 is now the binding limit. Profitable traders are constrained by the daily rule, not the overall rule.

Losing day

ItemValue
Closed balance at 00:30 UTC$98,000
Daily loss amount$2,940
Daily floor$95,060

On a Turbo $100K, the static floor is $97,000, which is now higher than the daily floor. Turbo traders who are down lose the daily rule as a buffer and are constrained by the static floor.

Intraday sequence

A $50K Pro account starts the day with a $48,500 daily floor and a $47,500 static floor. The trader loses $1,000 by 10:00 UTC (equity $49,000), then gains $1,500 (equity $50,500). The floor stays at $48,500 all day; the earlier loss does not shrink the remaining room once recovered. At 00:30 UTC the next day, if the closed balance is $50,500, the new floor is $48,985.

Open positions across the reset

Because the reference balance excludes open positions, a trader holding a large floating profit at 00:30 UTC does not get credit for it in the new floor. Example on a $100K account:

  • Closed balance at reset: $100,000. Floating profit on an open BTCUSD position: +$4,000.
  • New daily floor: $97,000, calculated from $100,000, not $104,000.
  • Equity is $104,000, so the trader has $7,000 of room to the daily floor on that position.

The reverse also applies. A floating loss of $2,500 at reset leaves equity at $97,500 against a $97,000 floor: $500 of room, with the overall static floor also in play. Traders who hold overnight in the Americas time zones, where the reset falls in the evening, should check floating P&L before 19:30 ET / 16:30 PT rather than at midnight local time.

Financing on held positions is deducted every four hours on the Breakout Prop Terminal and daily on DXtrade, and reduces the balance that feeds the next reset.

Payouts and the daily floor

Breakout Prop's payout FAQ states that a withdrawal lowers the daily floor by the withdrawn amount until the next 00:30 UTC recalculation.

StepBalanceDaily floor
Before payout$105,000$101,850
Withdraw $5,000$100,000$96,850
Next 00:30 UTC reset$100,000$97,000

The static overall floor is not changed by a payout. On a Turbo funded account the $97,000 static floor is higher than the post-payout $96,850 daily floor, so the static rule binds until the reset.

Daily floor vs static overall floor

FeatureDaily floorStatic overall floor
Percentage3%Classic 6%, Pro 5%, Turbo 3%
ReferenceClosed balance at 00:30 UTCStarting balance
Moves with profitYes, upwardNo
Moves with lossYes, downwardNo
Affected by payoutYes, until next resetNo
Counts floating P&LYesYes

Equity must stay above both at all times. Touching either, including through an open position, closes positions and forfeits the account. There is no reset or second chance; a new evaluation must be purchased.

Daily reset checklist

  1. Convert 00:30 UTC to your local time and set an alarm 15 minutes earlier.
  2. Before the reset, decide whether open positions should be closed to lock their P&L into the reference balance.
  3. After the reset, note the new daily floor: closed balance × 0.97.
  4. Compare it with the static floor and treat the higher of the two as the active limit.
  5. After any payout, recalculate the daily floor by subtracting the withdrawn amount.
