Breakout Prop Legacy 2-Step Funded Rules: Daily Loss and Static Drawdown

Quick answer

Existing Breakout Prop 2-Step funded accounts keep a different daily-loss framework from currently sold standard 1-Step evaluations. The official legacy funded FAQ specifies 6% static overall drawdown and a 4% daily limit reset at 00:30 UTC. The 2-Step evaluation is no longer sold.

Identify the account before importing current rules

The official 2-Step funded FAQ preserves the account's funded terms and identifies the two loss limits.

Legacy funded requirementPublished basis
Maximum overall drawdown6% of initial funded balance, static
Maximum daily loss4%
Daily reference updateClosed balance at 00:30 UTC

Save the account type and funded agreement with the account ID. A search result about a new 1-Step account cannot establish the terms of an older 2-Step funded account.

Two floors on a $50K legacy funded example

For an invented account with $50,000 initial funded balance:

Static overall allowance = $50,000 × 6% = $3,000.

Static floor = $50,000 − $3,000 = $47,000.

If its closed balance at the daily reset is $50,000, the 4% daily allowance is $2,000 and the daily floor is $48,000.

The initial daily boundary is therefore higher than the overall boundary. Staying above $47,000 alone would not establish compliance with both.

A profitable reset changes the daily floor

Suppose the same account records $52,000 closed balance at a later daily reset:

QuantityCalculationResult
Daily allowance$52,000 × 4%$2,080
Daily floor$52,000 − $2,080$49,920
Static overall floor$50,000 × 94%$47,000

At $50,200 equity, the distance above the daily floor is $280. The distance above the overall floor is $3,200. The smaller distance is the relevant current constraint in this illustration.

A trader who continues to use the account's original $2,000 daily room would miss the effect of the later reset and the losses already reflected in equity.

Keep balance, equity and reference time distinct

Closed balance is the reference used at the stated daily boundary. Equity includes the result of open positions during the session. The Breakout program rules apply loss checks to equity.

A record should therefore include the reset balance, calculated floor and current equity. Recording only closed balance can conceal an open loss that puts equity near a boundary.

A later recovery does not make an earlier breach irrelevant. Use actual account records when reconciling a suspected limit event rather than a chart's closing candle alone.

After a reward request or account adjustment, record the dashboard's resulting balance and active limits again. Do not reuse a pre-request worksheet without checking its reference values.
